Egypt is in a hot desert country where the lack of water made it difficult to farm except for one area, the Nile Valley. The the annual fllood of the Nile River made this area a good farming area. The Egyptians main crops were wheat and barley. Wheat was use to make bread and the barley was used to make beer. Bread and beer was eaten and drank by both rich and poor.
